between the worlds

I’ve arrived home from a weekend retreat, but have not yet arrived. In am in between worlds, surrounded by mystical, magical mists.

The light fog softly blanketing the pasture outside my window beautifully reflects my inner experience. A mystical cocoon of nurturing wisdom… not all here and not all there. Floating effortlessly. Deep silence.

It is not a time for doing. I am simply Be-ing consciously in each moment, embracing the blissful experience of resting gently in the Sacred Soul-space. No need for planning, activity, speaking. Only silence.

I don’t belong in my work world yet. I don’t belong in my social world. I am honoring my belonging in the silent world today. Allowing. Observing. Embracing the divine wisdom of intuition guiding me in each moment.

Deeply immersed in the bliss of inner silence… in between worlds.

I am thankful.

Intention:

I am BE-ing in the heart space, relaxing into Deep Silence where I am connecting with my own inner wisdom and with the Universal Oneness.  I invite and welcome Deep Silence to my world.

Recipe – Easy Wheat-free/Gluten-free Bread Loaf

Ingredients:

1 c cold water

3/4 c warm water

1 tsp vinegar

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp honey

3 eggs

2 c brown rice flour

2 c tapioca flour

2 tsp salt

2 tsp xanthan gum

1 tsp baking soda

2 handfuls sunflower seeds, flax seeds*, walnuts**, raisins, dried cranberries, pecans… whatever you want to try!

Process:

1. Measure and prepare everything in advance.

2. Fold all ingredients together quickly in the order listed.

3. Place in large bread/loaf pan.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Notes:

You may halve or double the recipe as needed.  Reduce baking time to 35 minutes for half recipe.

* Flax seed should always be split or ground for consumption, as the flax seed’s outer shell prevents our bodies from effectively utilizing the nutritional benefits.

** Walnuts are my personal favorite so far in this recipe. For any larger pieces of nuts, use a grinder to break down into smaller pieces. If you don’t have a grinder, put nuts into a closed (but not airtight) bag and use a hammer, jar, shoe, or other object to smash the pieces in the bag.

Your Spirit Circle Thought and Affirmation for the Month

From the Spirit Circle Decks of Soul Cards

Affirmation Card:

I am teachable and willing to learn

aff-cardback

Open yourself to the magic of the universe like a young child looking at the world for the first time, with newness and wonder. You are eager to accept the joy of learning. Possibilities are endless! The most obvious barrier to learning is arrogance – the belief that you already know it all. Realize that, in the big scheme of things, there is so much more in the universe outside of that you already know. Be hungry for, and open to, the experiences that encourage you to learn and grow!

Thoughts Card:

Act instead of react

th-cardback

You are an active participant in your own life, not a slave to old habits and patterns. Your create your own thoughts, beliefs and actions. At any time, you can choose to act responsibly instead of allowing emotional upheavals to dictate your reactions. With understanding and practice, you are completely capable at any given moment of stopping your “automatic” patterns before they begin, and choosing to act with integrity and reason. You create your own reality.

Nature’s Way – What Do You Know About Clean Burning Candles?

Beeswax is 100% natural, made from the nectars and pollens of bees. It is a renewable resource, making it supportive of our global environment. Beeswax candles are known to burn longer and cleaner than paraffin candles, and are drip-free.

Soy wax, a natural and vegan alternative, is also cleaner burning than paraffin. A huge bonus is that wax drips and spills can be cleaned up with soapy water. The mixture of soybean oil lowers the melting point of the candle, making soy candles cooler burning. The lower melting point means a larger pool of melted wax around the wick, from which added scent evaporates into the air more efficiently.

Paraffin, on the other hand, is a by-product of the petroleum industry. It starts out as a grayish sludge that is bleached, which creates dioxins, textured using carcinogenic chemicals, coloured with artificial colourants and scented with synthetic aromas that create fluorocarbons when burned. All that goes into the air you’re breathing.

Apparently, beeswax candles only need to consist of 51% beeswax to be labeled as such, and soy candles can be as little as 20%. When buying, look for candles that specifically say “100%” on them.

Watch for candles scented with anything other than essential oils, as the chemicals from synthetic substances will release formaldehyde and other toxins.

What about wicks? Some wicks are metal-cored, which cause them to stand up straight in the candle and not fall over into the melted wax. These wicks contain dangerous levels of lead, which is inhaled and absorbed into the bloodstream. Cotton wicks are healthy and environmentally friendly.

Next time you’re shopping for candles, look for:

  • beeswax candles or soy candles
  • 100% organic cotton wicks
  • non-GMO soy candle wax
  • organic essential oil scented candles

Intention:

I light this candle with love and gentle spirit.  I watch the radiating light, bathing in it’s rich, warm colour.  I breathe in lightness of BEing.  I breathe out deep, healing peace into the world around me.

Once again, it’s been a genuine pleasure to share this issue of our Spirit Circle Journal with you. My theme this month, “Between the Worlds”, came after a personal retreat in which I experienced major transformations and shifting within. While the intial sense of mystical enchantment lasted about a day and half, I am still resonating with the wisdom of Deep Silence that settled into my soul that weekend.

Have you ever experienced profound personal transformation? Or a particularly intense personal retreat? What was it like for you? I invite you to use the Comments link below to share your own experiences if you wish…

  2. Thanks for the fascinating info. I don’t usually get to read other poeple’s comments, much less take part. Because its Friday, I have some free time – I always learn something. Thank you.
